A Local Tertiary Appointment [disquiet0130-filteredmelody]
I’ve been looking for an excuse to play with Supercollider for a few weeks now, and this challenge seemed like a perfect opportunity. Using a familiar melody from the Spielberg film “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” as source material, I manipulated the looped audio using lightly modified sample code presented in the user docs for the TGrain UGen. Add some light delay in SONAR, and a limiter to smooth out the bumps, and voila! A looping, granular, messy little ditty.
