Anselmo’s Illegals Hop the Ohio Border

Phil Anselmo may be one of the hardest working artists in modern metal. Following the dissolution of Pantera in 2003, Anselmo was able to immerse himself in a plethora of side projects, adding a number of hardcore and metal bands to his resume, as well as putting additional time into his two biggest standby projects, Down and Superjoint Ritual. None of these, however, match the level of aggression displayed in his current solo effort. On Tuesday night, Philip H. Anselmo and the Illegals hit the House of Blues with a blistering, uncompromising set that gave full accounting to the road they’d travelled to to get there.
